Former Manchester City striker, Robinho has debunked reports that during his spell at Ethihad, he partied more than all the players in the squad. In an interview with Daily Mail, the player admitted he liked to party during his time in England, but added that his English teammates were worse although they were never caught.
According to him;
'I liked Manchester, the club, the restaurants... but let's not forget the nightclubs. I was a party-goer, and yes, I liked to have fun, but the Englishmen went out more than the Brazilians! Joe Hart was always out, and so was Micah Richards and Shaun Wright-Phillips, but the Brazilians partied, the club always caught us."
On whether Messi would join Manchester City in future he said;
"I spoke a couple of times with the owner, Sheikh Mansour," he continued. He told me he was going to sign Kaka and Messi. Kaka was close, but Messi... that was unattainable for them, but I believed in the project. The Sheikh had the ambition to form the best team in the world and look at them now, they have the best coach in the world, which is Pep Guardiola, and they can compete against anyone."
On why he left Real Madrid, Robinho said it was an opportunity to play with other great players.
"With all the respect in the world to the players I played with, today it would be easier. I remember the last day of the transfer market when my agent called me.
"I had the opportunity to go to City and though I had talked with Chelsea coach Scolari, Madrid blocked it because they did not want me to go to a direct Champions League rival."
