Emerging reports revealed that the Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike is now under intense pressure from stakeholders in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to rescind his decision following his resignation as the Zonal Coordinator of the Atiku Presidential Campaign.

According to Sunday Sun, apart from the party's bigwig, most allies of the Presidential candidates have also reached out to Governor Wike, urging him to reconsider his stand in the interest of the party.

Meanwhile it remains unclear whether Wike has decided to withdraw his resignation. Wike was reportedly angered by the way vital decisions and appointments were carried out without consultations of party leaders.

He was named South-South Zonal Coordinator in October after Atiku emerged as the winner of the primary election held in Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital.
