The lawmaker representing Takai/Sumaila federal constituency, Kano State, Garba Durbunde, who was kidnapped Tuesday, has regained his freedom.
Although the House of Representatives leadership established contact with the kidnappers shortly after the members abduction, it is not known if any ransom was paid.

A member of the House of Representatives, Garba Durbunde, abducted Tuesday by gunmen, has been released.

The federal legislator was released Wednesday, along Abuja-Kaduna Expressway, the same route on which he was kidnapped.

Leadership of the House had established contact with the kidnappers shortly after the Durbunde’s abduction but it is not known yet if any ransom was paid to secure his release.

The lawmaker representing Takai/Sumaila constituency, Kano State, had left Abuja for his home state about 5 p.m. Tuesday when he was whisked away by gunmen around Jere axis of the Abuja-Kaduna Expressway.
