The Nigerian Senate on wednesday adopted the amended electoral Act that altered the sequence of the 2019 general elections. The Senate took the decision, after it considered the recommendations of a conference committee report on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Act. Recall that the House of Representatives had earlier changed the order of elections by amending the electoral act.
A source in the National Assembly disclosed that the amended act would soon be transmitted to the President for assent.
