The son of President Muhammadu Buhari, Yusuf Buhari has been discharged from the hospital, weeks after his involvement in a motorbike accident in Gwarimpa, Abuja. The President in a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Femi Adeshina on Friday thanked Nigerians for their prayers and encouragement.

The Governor of Ekiti state, Ayodele Fayose has debunked media reports that he has abandoned his presidential ambition following his party's decision to zone the position to the North. The Governor who made this position known on Friday during an interactive session with Teachers in Public primary and secondary schools at the Government House Ado Ekiti explained that he soft-pedal on his presidential campaign because of the July 14 governorship election in the state. He hinted that his campaign will resume after the election.

The Lagos Division of Court of Appeal on Friday upheld the order of interim forfeiture of the sum of $5, 842, 316.66 and N2, 421, 953, 522.78 traced to the accounts of the wife of former President Goodluck Jonathan, Patience. Justice Justice Mojisola Olatoregun of the Federal High Court, Ikoyi, Lagos, had, on April 26, 2017, granted an order of interim forfeiture of the sum N5, 842, 316.66 traced to Patience Jonathan’s account number domiciled with Skye Bank Plc, on the grounds that the money was reasonably suspected to be proceeds of unlawful activities.

Senator Shehu Sani has again taken a swipe at the Governor of Kaduna state, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai over the recent disengagement of thousands of school teachers as well as the ban on all protest and rallies in the state. The Senator representing Kaduna Central Senatorial District said instead of pursuing teachers, the governor should go after Fulani Herdsmen who have been killing innocent people and terrorizing residents in the state.

The Federal Ministry of Water Resources says it will host a global forum on sustainable solutions to save the drought-ravaged Lake Chad between Feb. 26 and Feb. 28 in Abuja. Dr Musa Ibrahim, the Permanent Secretary of the ministry, said this in a statement in Abuja. He said that the theme of the conference was “Saving the Lake Chad to revitalise the Basin’s Ecosystem for Sustainable Livelihood, Security and Development’’.

The Supreme Court on Friday ordered the continuation of the trial of Dastra Investment Nigeria Ltd, a company used by Olisha Metuh to allegedly launder N400 million from the Office of the National Security Adviser. Delivering judgment, Justice Kumai Akaahs held that the decision of a lower court was apt.

The Federal Executive Council on Wednesday approved the contract for the provision of the independent power supply (at N61 per kilowatt/hour) to the Nnamdi Azikwe International Airport, Abuja.
