The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has reopened the runway of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in the nation’s capital, Abuja.

FAAN had on Thursday closed the runway after a private jet skidded off, losing its landing gear in the process.

In a statement, the General Manager, Corporate Affairs of FAAN, Mrs Henrietta Yakubu, clarified that the closure was to enable the Authority take safety precautions.

However, officials at the Airport were able to move the jet out of the way, enabling the authorities to reopen the runway.
