Following the military airstrike that has lead to neutralising scores of terrorist, the Islamic State of West African Province, ISWAP, terrorist has banned farmers and fishermen from operations in Marte Local Government Area, LGA, Borno state for being suspicious of playing a double agent. The terrorist has vowed to kill anyone found in villages like, Katikime, Bulungahe, Kutukungunla, Chikun Gudu, Tumbumma, Guma Kura, Guma Gana and New Marte, after accusing them of spying on their activities for the Nigerian military.
The order came after the Nigerian Air force air-raided the areas of the said villages where it inflicted a heavy casualty on the terrorists in their hideouts.
According to Air force report, the raid has led to elimination of major commanders of the terrorists, scores of foot soldiers, their logistics hub and their factory.
The raid also denied the terrorists sanctuary and freedom of action through forcing them to flee from their camps.
Areas raided were villages like Grazah and Wa-Jahode, on the fringes of the Mandara Mountain which military sources said resulted in the killing of over 100 terrorists.
Also at the river banks of Jibularam and Sabon Tumbum, NAF airstrikes led to the elimination of two ISWAP Commanders, Amir Malam Bello and Amir Malam Musa Modu and scores of their foot soldiers.
A source revealed that airstrikes were also carried out at Kwalaram, Bukar Mairam, Abbaganaram and Yarwa Kura, leading to more casualties within the terrorist fighters while forcing others to flee with injuries.
Recalled that some weeks back, NAF in Maiduguri command after receiving intelligence from its field troops deployed its firepower where surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR) platform spotted a convergence of Boko Haram terrorists in Amchille in Geizuwa, where it killed several of their fighters and destroyed their vehicle during a night strike.
Corroborating the military report, a counter-insurgency analyst, Zagazola Makama, claimed that another damaging airstrike was conducted at a location given as Andakar, Musari and Klabariya in Marte LGA.
He added that the most recent one was on July 6 when many insurgents were neutralized in another precise, intelligence-led air strike carried out by the Air Force brigade at Tumbum Shittu.
He revealed that successful offensives forced the terrorists to split into camps within Marte to avoid any form of mass gathering that would make them a suitable target.
Only that they have resolved to converge at a location given as “large” when there was any need to coordinate any form of attack.
