President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has yesterday after meeting with the service Chiefs and head of the intelligence agency has charged them to deliver on mandate of securing lives and properties of Nigerians. This was made known yesterday by the National Security Adviser, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu shortly after the meeting to the state house press after the president, the service chiefs and the Acting inspector General of Police held a closed- door meeting. President Tinubu approved the appointment of the service chiefs on 19th June, 2023.
During the meeting the president charged the service chiefs to work as a team for effective service delivery.
The NSA expressed optimism that the task ahead of them will be faced squarely with courage and tact, saying, “It is going to be done, In shaa Allah (God’s willing).”
The pioneer Economic and Financial Crime Commission, EFCC boss said his team would not only tackle insecurity, but to also bring peace and stability in the country.
Briefing the newsmen on the outcome of the meeting, the NSA said, “We are here to thank Mr President for the opportunity he gave us to serve our country and to serve his own government. We also pledged our loyalty to him, Nigeria and Nigerians. We believe the choice he made is the right one, the correct one, and we know what he wants for this country.
“We are going to work tirelessly to ensure that we accomplish that objective of securing our country, establishing peace, stability and let’s get our lives back.
He added that the president gave his team assurance that he will have their back, but charged them not to work in antagonism to one another as their collective mandate is to secure Nigeria and its citizen.
Meanwhile, present during the meeting were; Chief of Defence Staff, Major General Christopher Musa; the Chief of Army Staff, Major General Taoreed Lagbaja; the Chief of Naval Staff, Rear Admiral Emmanuel Ogalla; the Chief of Air Staff, Air Vice Marshal Hassan Abubakar; Chief of Defence Intelligence, Maj. Gen. E.P.A Undiandeye and the Acting IGP, Kayode Egbetokun.
