The Nigerian secret police the DSS, has dispelled circulating reports alleging that its personnel prevented officials of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), from gaining access to their office in Ikoyi, Lagos. The reports claimed that both agencies have been on ongoing rivalry over ownership of the building.

The DSS, in a statement signed by its Public Relations Officer, Peter Afunanya PhD, which was shared on its official Twitter handle on 30th May 2023, tagged "DSS Not In A Fight With EFCC Over Lagos Property", described the reports as fabricaded and imaginary.

“The attention of the Department of State Services (DSS) has been drawn to some media reports that it barricaded the EFCC from entering its Lagos office.

“There is no rivalry between the Service and the EFCC over and about anything. Please do not create any imaginary one. They are great partners working for the good of the nation. Dismiss any falsehood of a fight,” the statement said.
