Kano state police command has debunked a rumour trending on social media that claimed terrorists invade a community in kano and unleashed a pogrom, saying the statement was not true and urging members of the public to go about their normal routine as security agencies are on top of their game. However, the police made some clarification that what some mischief makers spread as a terror attack was actually a communal clash that happened among some three communities in Rogo Local Government Area of the state sometime back in August 2022.
Addressing members of the public, the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Haruna Kiyawa assured members of the public that the state Commissioner of Police, Abubakar Lawal, has advised members of the public to always verify the veracity of information before embarking on spreading them.
Meanwhile, the commissioner urged members of the public to disregard such rumour peddling as an act of mischief makers who capitalised on the purported rumours of terror attacks peddled by some vested interest to instil fear in members of the public.
He, therefore, enjoined the general public that the police are always there to provide necessary security measures, calling on them that if they see something, they should say something.
