Fire Incident: Residence Count Loses In Ogun As Petrol Tanker Razes Buildings

About ten buildings were reported to have been burnt to ashes following a fire incident that involved a tanker loaded with 45,000 liters of Premium Motor Spirit, PMS, fuel crashed in Ifo community in Ogun state spilling all its content. The Zonal coordinator of the National Emergency Management Agency, NEMA, Mr. Ibrahim Farinloye issued a statement in Lagos today, saying the incident happened at about 7. am along Olambe Matogun road in Ifo.


In his statement, “Though, no life was lost or any injuries sustained, about 10 buildings were consumed in the incident. 

The NEMA official explained that “The situation was mitigated with most of the content spilling into the canal close to the scene thereby saving the community from a serious incident that could have affected people. The fire has been put out.” 

He revealed that it has saved the community from a more devastating as many people would have been involved. 

He noted that the fire has been put out though, but more people are still counting their losses.
