The first batch of Nigerians repatriated from the United States of America numbering about 160 following the coronavirus (COVID-19) lockdown have arrived in Nigeria on Sunday, May 10. The Boeing 787 Ethiopian Aircraft touched down at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja about 11.05 am on Sunday. The evacuees who were returned under a special arrangement by the Federal Government for nationals stranded abroad would undergo the compulsory 14 days quarantine in Abuja before they are allowed to reunite with their families.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Geoffrey Onyeama confirmed the development in a tweet .

Once they fulfill all airport protocols - port health, immigration etc, they will all be transported to the designated quarantine centres for the mandatory 14 day period .They will be tested for Covid-19 and re-tested at the end of the quarantine period. @USEmbassyAbuja
