There is a wild agitation as Workers of the Nigerian Postal Service, NIPOST, have shut down their head office in Abuja in protest over the appointment of the new Chief Executive Officer/Post Master General, Tola Odeyemi by president Tinubu. Last week the presidential spokesperson on media, Ajuri Angelale announced the appointment of some key positions in the communication agency, including NIPOST.

Shortly, after the news broke out, of appointment of, Tola Odeyemi, there were reports that the sacked Post Master General of the Nipost, Adeyemi Adepoju has been reinstated.

In a viral video, Adepoju was seen addressing some workers claiming that president Tinubu had reappointed him.

However, today Monday, the protesting workers denied entry to the newly appointed NIPOST CEO, Odeyemi saying her appointment was against their wish.

The workers insist, they preferred Adepoju, the sacked boss over the new one chanting solidarity songs and wielded placards.
