Bank Robbers Reportedly Kill Seven In Edo State

There was palpable tension on Thursday afternoon as armed robbers carried out coordinated attacks on some commercial banks in Uromi, headquarters of Esan North-East Local Government Area of Edo State.


No fewer than seven persons including two policemen were reportedly killed during the attacks.

According to residents, the attacks were coordinated with the armed robbers launching simultaneous attacks using explosives on the affected banks.

The banks affected by the robbery include Unity Bank, Zenith Bank, First Bank, and the United Bank for Africa.

Videos circulating online shows the armed robbers carting away unspecified hugs sums of money.

The Spokesman for Edo State Police Command, Kontongs Bello, confirmed the robbery attacks but did not give any further details.
