OAU Sex-For-Mark Scandal: Don’s Accuser Appears Before Probe Panel

Monica Osagie, a student of the Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ile-Ife, at the center of the sex-for-mark crisis rocking the school, on Tuesday appeared before the committee set up by the university.

In a leaked telephone conversation, Richard Akindele, a professor in the institution, was heard demanding sex from Osagie, a postgraduate student of business administration.

Akindele solicited sex to award her a pass mark.

After the audio went viral, Eyitope Ogunbodede, OAU vice-chancellor, announced that a panel had been set up.

Contrary to insinuations that some politicians currently under Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) investigation were responsible for the attack on the farmhouse of the Acting Chairman of EFCC, Ibrahim Magu, the suspects have been arrested by the Police and have explained why they carried out the attack.

Emerging reports indicate that suspected herdsmen on Tuesday killed 15 people including two catholic priests in an early morning attack on a Catholic Church in Ayar-Mbalom, a community in Gwer East Local Government Area, Benue State. Terver Akase, a spokesperson to Governor Samuel Ortom, who confirmed the attack, said the attackers also burnt 50 houses and sacked the entire community, before escaping.

A Lagos High Court Sitting in the Ikeja area has ordered a suspended judge at the Federal High Court, Justice Mohammed Yunusa, to face trial for alleged corruption.

Justice Sherifat Solebo gave the order on Monday while ruling on the case of allegations of corruption preferred against him by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

Justice Yunusa was arraigned by the anti-graft agency on four counts bordering on an attempted perversion of the course of justice and corruption by a public official.
