South Korea has pledged commitment to assist Nigeria accelerate implementation of the Economic Recovery and Growth Plan in order to significantly grow the economy. Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Nigeria, Noh Kyu-duk, made the pledge in Abuja at the first Anniversary of Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) Alumni also known as South Korean International Cooperation Association in Nigeria (SKICAN).

North Korea fired several short range missiles into its east coast early Saturday morning as South Korea and its US ally were conducting military drills which Pyongyang has denounced as preparation for war. The action seems to indicate that the crisis in the Korean Peninsula is far from being resolved with the North’s firing of the projectiles.

The source declined to say where she had gone, but Thailand's top immigration official said there were no records of Yingluck having left through proper channels.

At least 32 people were killed Friday when clashes broke out in northern India after a court convicted a controversial religious leader of raping two of his followers, sparking fury among tens of thousands of supporters who had gathered for the verdict. Authorities rushed hundreds of troops to the city of Panchkula after followers of guru Ram Rahim Singh torched cars went on a rampage throwing rocks and attacking television vans and setting fire to dozens of private vehicles.

Chad had on Wednesday orders the closure of the Qatari embassy in N’Djamena and gave its staff 10 days to leave. Chad is accusing Doha of plans to destablise its country through Libya, according to Reuters. Chad and some African countries had recalled their ambassadors from Qatar in June 2017. They acted after a gulf diplomatic feud involving Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Yemen and Egypt all broke diplomatic ties with Doha, accusing it of supporting Islamist extremist, a charge Qatar denied.
