Tillerson said the United States had supported 20 African nations this year in training its peacekeepers for both continental and international organizations.
"The United States, as the largest contributor to the development of peacekeeping capabilities, is also helping more than 20 African countries to train, deploy and maintain their peacekeeping forces.
"This year, such efforts have already supported the training of more than 27,000 African peacekeepers for UN and UA missions," he said.
The secretary of state also said that his government's goal was to expand its relationship with Africa in the areas of trade and investment, good governance and the fight against terrorism.
Tillerson also said that the USA. UU They expected a sustained partnership to address Africa's low level of literacy, the shortage of teachers, and increase their access to education.
"We encourage our African counterparts to address these many governance challenges and, in doing so, unlock the development potential of their country.

"We are particularly grateful for the work of African countries to expand multinational and regional cooperation to combat terrorism.
"The United States is committed to partnering with you to defeat ISIS, al-Qaeda and other terrorist groups on your continent," he said.
