Sean “Diddy” Combs, tops Forbes’ annual Celebrity 100 ranking of the world’s highest-paid celebrities raking in $130 million pre tax in a 12-month scoring period.
Nearly two decades after appearing on the cover of the first-ever Celebrity 100 issue, Diddy tops the list thanks to his Bad Boy Family Reunion Tour, a partnership with Diageo’s Ciroc vodka and selling one-third of his Sean John clothing line for an estimated $70 million.
Beyoncé is in the No. 2 spot, she had a $105 million payday, resulting from her Formation World Tour and Lemonade release which is the second-best haul of her career. Queen Bey as is popularly called by her fans is now taking a break from touring to welcome her twins but only after grossing a quarter of a billion dollars from on the road from tours.
Author J.K. Rowling returns to the list at No. 3 after banking $95 million dollars.
Drake, the Canadian born artist followed closely with $94 million. Drake, jumped significantly from his No. 69 rank in the 2016 list, more than doubled his fortune, with most of it from relentless tour dates, plus endorsements with the likes of Apple, Nike and Sprite.
Real Madrid’s, Cristiano Ronaldo, earning $93 million, rounds out the top five.
Forbes stated that the world’s 100 highest-paid celebrities banked a cumulative $5.15 billion pretax during their June 2016 to June 2017 scoring period.
Forbes compiles the list, using estimates which are based on figures from Nielsen, NPD Bookscan, Pollstar, Box Office Mojo, Songkick, D'Marie and IMDB, as well as interviews with industry insiders and sometimes the stars themselves.
