Nigerian writer of novels, short stories and nonfiction, has made a shocking revelation of how she was sexually molested by a "big media guy " at an early age of 17.
The best-selling author made this known during an address at the just concluded Stockholm Forum for Gender Equality.
Chimamanda Dazzled attendees at the forum when she narrated that back then when she was seventeen years old and when she went to a "Big man in media" house who she taught will assist her promote a book of poems that she wrote.
But that to her amazement just within a minute, the said man slipped his hands down her clothes and then moved on to her bra and squeezed her boobs.
"I was so shocked that I did nothing for seconds but then, I pushed his hand away, gently, nicely, because I didn't want to offend him. later that day, I broke out in a rash on my face, neck and chest, as though my body was recoiling, as though my body was saying what my lips had not said," she revealed.
Even as stories of women being sexually molested in our society isn't a new thing which is absolutely repugnant, the fact that these women are coming out to speak openly about it is quite encouraging and might assist reduce the scourge.
