The Management of Calabar Port in Cross River received a Flat Bottom Vessel christened “Desert Ranger’’ weighing about 200 meters direct from Greece. The Bulk Carrier vessel which weighed 62,000 Metric Tons landed at the Port with 60,000 tonnes of wheat flour. The Port Manager, Mrs Olufumilayo Olotu, who received the vessel, expressed appreciation to its partners, Atlantic Bulk Carriers from Greece for taking the initiative.

The Group Managing Director of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC, Dr. Maikanti Kacalla Baru, says he had engaged investors to establish a refinery in Akwa Ibom State, Southern Nigeria. The NNPC GMD, made the disclosure at a two-day PENGASSAN’s Triennial Retreat/Synergy workshop with the theme “Leadership and Team Building for Change in Trade Union Administration” holding in Uyo, the capital of Akwa-Ibom State, also said that the state was well-positioned geographically to have a refinery.
