Former Chelsea Captain, John Terry has officially joined Aston Villa after becoming a free agent on July 1. The club's owner, Dr. Tony Xia confirmed the development on Monday via his Twitter handle @Dr_TonyXia.

Terry had made his debut for Chelsea in 1998 and went on to make 717 appearances for the Blues, becoming the third most capped player in the club history after Ron Harris and Peter Bonetti.

During his spell at Chelsea, John Terry won five Premier League titles, five FA Cups, three League Cups, one Champions League and one Europa League. He last appeared for the Blues on the final day of the league season at home to Sunderland where he lifted the EPL trophy and thereafter made an emotional farewell speech.
