Umahi Replaced As Senate Deputy Leader

Following the appointment of Senator Dave Umahi as Minister of Works by President Bola Tinubu, the Senate on Wednesday appointed Senator Oyelola Yisa Ashiru of the All Progressives Congress (APC) representing Kwara South as the new Deputy Leader of the Senate.


Prior to his elevation as the new Deputy Leader of the Senate, Senator Ashiru was the Deputy Chief Whip of the Senate.

The Senate also appointed Sentaor Nwebonyi Onyeka of the APC, representing Ebonyi North as the new Deputy Chief Whip.

The new appointments were announced at plenary by the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio.
