A former minster, Senator Bello Maitama Yusuf, has died at the age of 76 years old. Maitama, a former Senator from 1999-2007, passed away at the early hours of Friday at his residence in Kano following a brief illness.
This development was made known by a family friend of the deceased, Alhaji Hussaini Dalhatu, who said the late Sardauna of Dutse’s funeral prayer would take place after Jumu’at prayer at the Emir of Kano’s palace.
Maitama was born in Jigawa State in 1947 and was the Minister of Interior in 1981 and Minister of Commerce in 1982.
