Former PDP Governorship Aspirant Moves To APC

The Zamfara state branch of the All Progressive Congress (APC) has today received a former Governorship aspirant of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Ibrahim Shehu-Bakauye and his supporters into its fold.

The news of his defection was disclosed by, Alhaji Sani Gwamna, the Zonal Vice Chairman of the APC in the North-West who informed the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).

 

Gwamna disclosed that Bakauye’s defection followed the outcome of the meeting held with party bigwigs in the state.

 

Bakauye was a gubernatorial aspirant on the platform of the PDP who lost to Governor Mutawalle at the primary election level in the just concluded 2019 general election.

 

The Zonal Vice Chairman revealed, “Shehu-Bakauye and some of his supporters have today met, agreed to resolve their differences where they pledged their loyalty to work together politically for the APC”, in Zamfara state.

 

The APC state Chairman of Zamfara State, Mr. Lawal Liman described Bakauye’s defection as a wise decision.

 

He said the party has already commenced consultation with aggrieved members to resolve their differences to pave way for the party in the state.

 

Liman urged the party faithful in the state to remain calm and work towards the party’s progress.
