Why I Congratulated Buhari In The Open – Wike

Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, said he prefers to congratulate Buhari in the open rather than visiting him in the dead of the night as he has nothing against the President.

 

Wike makes this claim against some PDP governors who prefer to pretend in their visits to the President in the night, he said his own is from his heart as he is not out to pleas anyone.

 

The Governor was speaking at St. Luke’s Anglican Church, Emohua, on Thursday, while attending the funeral service of late madam Blessing Awuse, mother to one of the PDP leader in the state, Sergeant Awuse.

 

In his statement, “I am sure all of you are surprised that I congratulated Buhari. “Is it not good for me to congratulate him than to go to his house in the night?

 

“Many PDP governors go to see him in his house in the night. I have never gone and I will not go. I won’t go.

 

Wike claimed that Rivers State is the only state that was denied refund on execution of federal government project in the state for his failure to pay visit to President in the night.

 

He admitted that though Buhari not his friend but has won in the law court; therefore, he can’t accuse the court for doing their job.

 

“President Buhari, congratulations and carry Nigerians along, “Unify the country; the country is too divided, the governor added.
