The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Friday revealed that the Commission spent only one hundred million Naira on the failed attempt to recall the Senator representing kogi West Senatorial District, Dino Melaye. The Chairman of INEC, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu stated this while responding to a question posed by reporter at a press conference in Abuja.
He explained that the figure was nowhere near the N1bn being bandied by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
He said a recall exercise is just like conducting a Senatorial election, adding that Kogi-West which Melaye represents has 552 polling units and seven local governments.
