The first civilian governor of Adamawa state, Abubakar Saleh Michika is dead. He died on Saturday after it was reported that he was in coma. According to Vanguard, Michika who died yesterday night has been in coma for several days at the Federal Medical Centre, Yola, Adamawa state capital.

Recall that his son had earlier claimed his plea for medical assistance was ignored by the state government. He further disclosed that the state government also refused to pay him his pension, although he claimed Governor Bindo Jibril visited his father on Saturday and promised to offer relevant assistance.

According to him;

“The doctors say he cannot be moved until he is stable. For three days now, he has been in coma and there is nothing we can do but to pray; if they had allowed him to seek medical check-up, this would not have happened."

"Do you know that my father has only one car? They even denied him of pension as the first executive governor of Adamawa State. I have lost hope”, he added.
