Gabriel Aduda stated that efforts to evacuate stranded Nigerians who fled for safety are successful as it will commence today, the following evacuees received by the Nigerian embassies at Hungry is 650 persons, Poland 350 persons, Romania 940 persons, and Slovakia150 persons.
Meanwhile, the Minister of State, Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Zubairu Dada has revealed after the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting held 2nd March 2022 at the Council Chamber of the Presidential Villa in the nation's capital, that the memo meant for the evacuation of Nigerians in Ukraine's neighboring cities were presented by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs as well as that of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development is been approved.
President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the sum of 8.5 million dollars to evacuate at least 5,000 Nigerians stranded. Dada said three aircraft, two from Air Peace and one from Max Air airlines, would run as many shifts as possible to facilitate the evacuation of those who were currently on the ground.
