Gunmen Set FRSC, DSS Offices Ablaze In Anambra

Unknown gunmen on Sunday attacked Nnewi in Anambra State and set ablaze the offices of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), and Department of State Service (DSS), leaving two people dead. Also, the hoodlums set ablaze the country home of a chieftain of the All Progressive Congress (APC), Joe Igbokwe.


The yet to be identified gunmen came in four Sport Utility Vehicles (SUVs) and operated for hours, shooting sporadically before proceeding to the DSS and FRSC offices.


The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) in the State, Tochukwu Ikenga confirmed the incident, saying the incident occurred "At about 2pm, on 3rd Oct 2021, the command received a distress call of fire incident in Nnewi.


"The police operatives are currently on ground and the area has since been cordoned off. Further details shall be communicated”.
