COVID-19 Update: Nigeria Records 999 New Infections

Nigeria recorded nine hundred and ninety-nine (999) new COVID-19 cases across the country on Tuesday December 22, 2020, bringing the toll of confirmed cases to 79,789. The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), revealed the figure on its official Twitter handle on Tuesday night. According to the health agency the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) and Lagos had the highest number of cases with FCT recording 416 and Lagos having 324. Kaduna state followed with 68 infections.

Other states recorded as follows:

Plateau (42), Kwara (32), Kano (24), Gombe (14), Sokoto (12), Yobe (12), Akwa Ibom (11), Bayelsa (10), Bauchi (7), Rivers (7), Ogun (6), Oyo (5), Edo (4), Taraba (4) and Jigawa (1).

So far 68,879 persons have been discharged while the country recorded 1,231 deaths.
