The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) has disclosed that vandalism of oil infrastructure particularly in the Niger Delta has been reduced by 12.77% in April 2017. The Corporation made this known in it April NNPC Financial and Operations report released yesterday at the NNPC Towers Abuja and subsequently uploaded on the corporation's website.
According to the report, vandalism of downstream pipelines in March 2017 was 94 points while about 82 points were recorded in April 2017, representing a 12.77% reduction. The Corporation stated that gains recorded so far could be attributed to sustained engagements of oil and gas community stakeholders by the Presidency and officials of the NNPC.
On the availability of petroleum product in the period under review, the report maintained that the Corporation maintained adequate stock of over 1.2 billion litres of petrol enough to address the country's consumption need for more than 34 days. It added that it has also sustained the importation of Automotive Gas Oil (AGO) also known as diesel and aviation fuel to supplement products refined locally.
