Tech billionaire and Twitter's new owner Elon Musk has hinted that his next acquisition will be the multinational beverage company, Coca-Cola, and added that he'll put cocaine back in the drink.

In a series of tweets, the Twitter CEO posted that "Next I’m buying Coca-Cola to put the cocaine back in" and followed it up with a screenshot of a previous tweet where he said "Now I'm going to buy McDonald's and fix all the ice cream machines," and jokingly responded to himself with "Listen, I can't do miracles ok".

The addition of cocaine back into the beverage was born out of history. When John Pemberton, a pharmacist from Atlanta, first brewed the drink in 1885, cocaine was legal. At the time, the Coca-Cola recipe included a cocaine extract obtained from coca leaves. Pemberton described the drink as a "patent medicine", "brain tonic and intellectual beverage." However, cocaine was eliminated from the drink by the 1900s.
