The new owner of the bird application social media platform, Elon Musk has revealed they will be mass layoffs in the company. Noting that employees are set to receive a mail regarding this employment status justifying their job status. According to Musk, the laying off is in a bid to reduce the company's workforce of 7,500 and also kicking off his wholesale overhaul of the company, “Team, In an effort to place Twitter on a healthy path, we will go through the difficult process of reducing our global workforce on Friday,” according to multiple versions of the email obtained by The Washington Post. “We recognize that this will impact a number of individuals who have made valuable contributions to Twitter, but this action is, unfortunately, necessary to ensure the company’s success moving forward.”

A source with knowledge of the matter told FOX Business that Twitter CEO Parag Agrawal, CFO Ned Segal, and Vijaya Gadde, head of legal policy, trust, and safety were fired. Musk had accused the three of misleading him and investors over the number of fake accounts on the platform.

2023 Census: NPC Launches e-Recruitment Portal

In preparation for the 2023 Population and Housing Census, the National Population Commission (NPC) has officially launched its e-recruitment portal for ad-hoc staff for the exercise. The Commission stated that it is expecting not less than 25 million applications for the vacant jobs, adding that the portal has already been tested during the Pre-test and Trial census. This was disclosed during a meeting on Monday at the NPC’s headquarters in Abuja by its Chairman, Alhaji Nasir Isa-Kwarra, who stated that majority of the ad-hoc personnel would be recruited from the communities where they are resident.
