9Mobile Admits Network Outage, Apologises to Subscribers

Telecoms provider, 9Mobile, managed by Emerging Markets Telecommunication Services Limited (EMTS), has apologised for the nationwide disruption of its services which began on Wednesday. In a statement issued on August 23 by Ibrahim Dikko, 9mobile’s VP Regulatory and Corporate Services, the company disclosed that it encountered a network outage in one of its data centres which cause the service disruption.

SpaceX founder and CEO, Elon Musk, on Wednesday, posted a photo of the spacesuit that will be used by astronauts flying aboard the company's Dragon spacecraft, during space expedition in its reusable Dragon crew capsule. It is white and looks futuristic. In his Instagram post, Musk added that this suit was not a mock-up but rather a fully functional unit. "Already tested to double vacuum pressure," he wrote. "Was incredibly hard to balance aesthetics and function. Easy to do either separately," he said.

Google To Unveil Android ‘O’ On Monday To Coincide With Total Solar Eclipse

Internet giant, Google is set to reveal Android O on Monday, the day of the US total solar eclipse, as previously rumoured. The visible shape of the solar corona during the eclipse's totality neatly matches the symbol 'O', and we can expect Google to reveal the name of its latest Android version, as well as announce release dates of the final build of Android O for eligible Google devices, if not release it the same day.

Uber Suspended In Philippines After Showdown With Regulators

On Monday, Philippine authorities ordered the ride-hailing company to stop operations for a month. The company initially obeyed the order and suspended its service early Tuesday. Hours later, it was back online after Uber filed an appeal with the Philippines Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board.
