Dr Eucharia Ngozi-Oparah, Director-General, Nigerian Institute of Leather Science and Technology, (NILEST) says the military boots produced by the institute, ranked as one of the best globally.
She made the disclosure on Monday while receiving participants of the National Defence College (NDC) Course 26, Abuja during a visit to the institute in Zaria, Kaduna State.
Members of the course 26 of the NDC were in Zaria for a study tour of strategic establishments.

Uber Strikes Deal with Volvo For 24,000 Self-Driving Cars
Uber has entered into an agreement with Volvo targeting up to 24,000 self-driving cars. The deal entails that the pick-up service will get the cars within the period of three years starting from 2019.
Uber and Volvo are yet to reveal price terms but have disclosed that both parties are free to form similar partnerships with other companies.
New Zealand To Test New Emergency Mobile Alert System
More than two million mobile phones in New Zealand will make an unfamiliar sound when the country tries its new emergency mobile alert system on Sunday.
“The past year has shown us how important fast and reliable information is when emergencies strike,” Sarah Stuart-Black from the Ministry of Civil Defence said in a statement in Wellington.
The service will not only work for phones containing New Zealand SIM cards, but also it is expected to work on all phones that are enabled to receive cell-broadcast alerts.
Drones to spread Sterile Mosquitoes in fight against malaria
WeRobotics have committed to developing Drones that scatter swarms of sterile male mosquitoes which cannot produce offspring when they mate with females over wide areas to help stop the spread of diseases such as malaria.
The drones could spread the mosquitoes in areas where these diseases prevail and such areas that are difficult to access where roads do not exist.
