About 200 Cyber-Attacks Blocked During Presidential Election- Galaxy Backbone

Galaxy Backbone (GBB) revealed that the Federal Government blocked about 200 cyber-attacks during the just concluded Presidential and National Assembly elections. This was made known on Tuesday by the GBB, Managing Director, Muhammad Abubakar during the two-day Ministerial training for GBB Board Members and Management Staff titled, “Positioning the GBB Team for Effective Management and Leadership in the 4th Industrial Revolution.”

NCC Warns Telegram Users Of New Cyber Threat

The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) has issued a security advisory of a new cyber threat where the victims’ Virtual Private Network (VPN) account is compromised, thereby granting unauthorized access to users of the messaging app, Telegram. The advisory was issued by the Commission’s Computer Security Incident Response Team (CSIRT) which stated that malware exploits unauthorized access to Telegram accounts to steal data across operating systems such as iOS, Android, Linux, Mac, and Windows.

The Nigerian Communications Commission’s Computer Security Incident Response Team (NCC-CSIRT) has issued a security advisory to users of the popular videotelephony software, Zoom, of cyber attacks by remote hacking. According to NCC-CSIRT, the Indian Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-In) had recently discovered several flaws in the Zoom platform.

NCC Warns Nigerians Of Malicious Google Chrome Extensions Malware

The Nigerian Communications Commission’s Computer Security Incident Response Team (NCC-CSIRT) has drawn the attention of Nigerians after it identified five malicious Google Chrome Extensions that surreptitiously track online browser’s activities and steal their data. This was contained in a statement signed by Reuben Muoka, Director, Public Affairs of the Commission. The statement said the five malicious extensions which the McAfee Mobile Research Team earlier discovered are Netflix Party with 800,000 downloads, Netflix Party 2 with 300,000 downloads, Full Page Screenshot Capture Screenshotting with 200,000 downloads, FlipShope Price Tracker Extension with 80,000 downloads, and AutoBuy Flash Sales with 20,000 downloads.
