Former U.S President Donald Trump is set to launch his own social media app 'TRUTH social' in a bid to "stand up to Big Tech" companies like Twitter and Facebook for banning him from their platforms. TRUTH Social will be created by a new company formed by a merger of Trump Media and Technology Group (TMTG) and a special acquisition company (SPAC). “I created TRUTH Social and TMTG to stand up to the tyranny of Big Tech. We live in a world where the Taliban has a huge presence on Twitter, yet your favorite American President has been silenced. This is unacceptable," Trump said in a released statement.

"I am excited to send out my first TRUTH on TRUTH Social very soon. TMTG was founded with a mission to give a voice to all. I'm excited to soon begin sharing my thoughts on TRUTH Social and to fight back against Big Tech," he said.

According to the press release, the new social media app will roll out a beta version in November, which will be available to invited guests only, but its national rollout is scheduled for the first quarter of 2022.

The TMTG also has plans to create a subscription video-on-demand service called TMTD+, featuring entertainment, news, podcast among others.

Vigil360news reports that Trump had earlier announced plans to create his own social media app, after he was banned from Twitter and Facebook, following the riot at the U.S Capitol on January 6th.
