Subscribers of MTN Nigeria on Saturday lamented the breakdown in network services, obstructing calls, internet data, and SMS services across the country. The mobile network operator confirmed the breakdown in a short message, apologizing for the inconvenience and assuring subscribers that the network challenge will be fixed and sorted.
“Some of our customers are having difficulty connecting to the network today. We are looking into this and are truly sorry for any inconvenience caused,” the message read.
“Emergency calls only” showed on the screens of MTN users, after subscribers began experiencing outage around 2:30pm.
MTN Nigeria wrote on its official Facebook page “Some of our customers are having difficulty connecting to the network today. We’re looking into this and are truly sorry for any inconvenience caused.”
MTN is the largest mobile network in Nigeria with over 73 million subscribers.
