Google Partners Flutterwave To Train 5000 SMEs

Google Nigeria has partnered with digital payment company, Flutterwave to commence training of 5000 small and medium enterprises (SMEs) across the country, teaching them with the much-needed skills to use the web to their advantage.

 

The ‘Digital Business Compass’ training slated for next week aims to teach and impacting businesses with technological knowledge in a bid to help grow their businesses in line with the digital advancement.

According to Techcabal, the training set to commence between March 3 and 5 in Lagos will include live sessions as well as case studies to enable participants to have a full experience.

Businesses will be provided with consultation sessions with digital business managers, support teams so as to give personalized advice to each business.

Speaking, Google Partners Lead, West Africa, Tolulope Akinyele said, "According to the Ministry of Industry, Trade, and Investment, Nigeria has over 37.07 million micro, small and medium-scale enterprises (MSMEs), which account for more than 84 per cent of jobs in the country."

"Many of them lack the skills and tools to take advantage of the Web to grow their businesses, however.

Working with Flutterwave, our goal for holding these clinics is to provide a platform for SMEs to learn skills and master tools that will help them better utilize the Web to grow their businesses," he added.

CEO and Co-founder of Flutterwave, Olugbenga Agboola, while explaining the partnership with Google said "We have always been passionate about inspiring a new wave of prosperity across Africa. In partnership with Google, we are looking forward to empowering SMEs across Africa to scale and drive up revenue."
