In a bid to check the rate of cyber-bullying, Facebook's Instagram is developing a new Artificial Intelligent (AI) powered feature that will identify and remove any posts depicting cyber-bullying on its platform.

The new feature is said to make comments from bullies invisible to everyone except the bully, meaning only the bully would see his or her comments.

Adam Mosseri, Head of Instagram made the announced the release of the new feature saying that it is aimed at preventing online bullying on the platform.

He said "We can do more to prevent bullying from happening on Instagram, and we can do more to empower the targets of bullying to stand up for themselves. Today we’re announcing one new feature in both areas".

The increase in social media platforms has also been by series of online harassments, trolling, and negativity among others, which in some cases has led victims to go as far as committing suicide as a result of cyber-bullying.

The feature will be included in the next Instagram update.
