Network equipment maker Nokia reported a jump in profit on Thursday thanks to a patent deal with Apple and gains in market share though it warned the network business could slow by more than expected this year.
Nokia's shares rose 5.5 percent by 0820 GMT after it posted second-quarter operating profit of 574 million euros ($674 million), up 73 percent from a year ago and well above analysts' average forecast of 447 million euros in a Reuters poll.

Google CEO Sundar Pichai said the company is set to launch an affordable mobile device, the Freetel Ice 2, for the Nigerian market. Pichai stated this during his first visit to Nigeria last week. Pichai said: "Google is set to launch an Android device in September. One cool thing about this device is the price. The Ice 2 would be sold at N13 000 ($40) when it is launched."

Google announced that Street View is now available in Nigeria. Google's CEO, Sundar Pichai, was in attendance at the ongoing Google for Nigeria event taking place in Lagos when the announcement was made. Google Street View is a technology featured in Google Maps which allows people explore world landmarks, discover natural wonders, and step inside locations such as museums, arenas, restaurants, and small businesses from the comfort of their homes.
