BlackBerry Ltd recently said that it has developed new software for running complex computer systems on vehicles, giving the once dominant smartphone maker a leg up in a burgeoning segment of the technology market. The company declined to name any automakers who plan to use the technology, but senior BlackBerry executive John Wall said “multiple” car companies have started incorporating it into onboard computer systems of vehicles that are currently in development.

Chinese electric-car maker NIO launched sales of its first mass production vehicle model, three years after the company was founded, undercutting the price of a rival model from Tesla Inc. The ES8 sports utility vehicle, with a range of 500 kilometers (311 miles) on a single charge, for 448,000 yuan ($67,783), the company said late Saturday in Beijing. That compares with 836,000 yuan for Tesla’s Model X, and 596,300 yuan for BMW’s gasoline-powered X5.

Facebook is coming for kids following the launch of a messaging app for children to chat with their parents and with friends approved by their parents.

The free app which comes with several controls for parents is aimed at kids under 13, who cannot have their own accounts under Facebook's rules.

The service it's an extension of a parent's account were children cannot add their own friends or delete messages as only parents can do that.

LG has taken Apple's unflattering title of most expensive smartphone following the announcement of the Signature Edition.

The limited edition "super premium" phone will hit shelves in South Korea and only 300 units will be made. The phone will sell for 2 million South Korean won (£1,370), exceeding the most expensive iPhone X by more than £200.

The Signature Edition will be almost identical to the V30, LG's mainstream flagship smartphone. It comes with 6Gb of RAM, 256Gb of memory, a 6-inch OLED display and a 3300 mAh battery.
