"I want to thank the club for all the hard work they did to be able to bring me back. From the heart, thank you.”

Recall that Costa's transfer back to his childhood club was completed in September but was unable to feature for the club due to Atletico Madrid's transfer ban.

Before exiting Chelsea, Antonio Conte had declared him surplus to requirement by sending him an infamous text message, advising him to look for an alternative club as he was no longer welcome.

The player also accused the Club of attempting to send him to China against his wish and treating him as a criminal.

After his unveiling, Club Manager, Diego Simeone said he had been working to bring the Spaniard back to the club to partner Antonio Griezmann in attack.

"We have worked hard to bring Griezmann and Costa and hopefully we keep him for a period,"
