Obafemi Martins Joins Wuhan Zall On A 12 Months Deal

Former super eagles forward Obafemi Martins has joined Chinese Super League club Wuhan Zall after been without a club since 2018 due to a hamstring injury. The 35-year-old centre-forward who enjoyed great success with rivals Shanghai Shenhua after teaming up with the side in 2016 from MLS club Seattle Sounders FC, was handed a one-year contract by sixth-placed Han Army.

Martins, with more than 45 gaming experience in the Chinese Super League returned to football in July after a long absence. The striker is hoping to prove he still has all it takes to play at the top level with the Dongxihu Sports Centre outfit.

The 2005/06 season Serie A winners medalist has featured for Reggiana, Inter Milan, Newcastle United, VfL Wolfsburg, Rubin Kazan, Birmingham City, Levante, Seattle Sounders, Shanghai Shenhua and has bagged 20 caps for Nigeria. He started his football journey from Nigerian based football club F.C. Ebedei.
