Three-time former world heavyweight champion and one of boxing greatest, Lennox Lewis has described the forthcoming mega-money bout between Mayweather and McGregor as ridiculous, stating that he will not bother to watch the fight or stake his money.

Lewis made the statement while reacting to questions regarding the match, slated for August 26, at the T-mobile Arena, Las Vegas, stated that the outcome of the match is too predictable and as such must not be taken seriously.

He explained that since both opponents belong to different sports, the fight may not live up to its billing.

“Every battle sport always starts with your hands, but they are two totally different sports. I can’t take it seriously. Mayweather is the best in his weight class; no one can touch him in boxing. I wouldn’t buy it — but I would be interested in the result. To me, I know who is going to win already so there’s no use in watching it.”

The fight is expected to take place in Las Vega and would rake in millions of Dollars for the promoters who have scheduled the match to last 12 rounds.

Lewis a boxing hall of famer, however believes that McGregor may not last that long as he would be knocked out by the "Money Man". “Floyd will stop him. He’s just too good at boxing for McGregor and McGregor is just too inexperienced" he added.

The fight may afford Floyd Mayweather the opportunity to take his professional win to 50-0, a career milestone that may facilitate a glorious retirement from boxing. Mayweather's last professional fight was with in 2015.

Mayweather retired from boxing after his last fight with Pacquiao, he is coming out retirement for the blockbuster bout. Mayweather is expected to bank around $252 million from the fight, with McGregor set to earn around $131m.

McGregor on the other hand is an Irish Professional mixed martial artist currently signed to the Ultimate Fighting Championship. He is the reigning UFC Lightweight Champion.

Mayweather (49-0, 26 KOs) also has the chance to finish off his career at a perfect 50-0 in a bout that few expect to be competitive but has nonetheless piqued the public's interest because of the boxing-versus-MMA angle, not to mention the big personalities and trash-talk ability of both fighters.

Mayweather has not fought since easily outpointing Andre Berto in September 2015 to retain his welterweight world title and then retiring. But he has been vocal about his desire to exit retirement for only one fight -- the big one against McGregor. The fight seemed highly implausible because Mayweather was retired and McGregor had never boxed.

Mayweather and McGregor eventually went back and forth with each other in the media and on social media talking about a possible fight, but making a deal was another story.
