Real Madrid manager, Zinedine Zidane may have finally buried speculation about a possible move for Chelsea's Eden Hazard and shot stopper Thibaut Courtois as the Los Blanco aim to strengthen the squad following abysmal performance so far. Real Madrid currently trail La Liga table toppers Barcelona with 16 points. The club's poor performance remains a source of concern to the manager and club executive. In a bid to strengthen the squad, several names have been mentioned including Hazard and Courtois.

Meanwhile, Zidane has reiterated his confidence in his current squad, debunking reports that they will be new additions before the close of January Transfer. Speaking after the disappointing 2-2 draw against second tier Numancia in the Copa del Rey, Zidane defended his player and expressed satisfaction that they had progressed to the next stage of the competition.

Speaking with beIN Sports he said;

"I believe in my squad and we will see what happens in the end. We qualified for the next round, which was the most important thing. There was one team that didn't stop running and that wanted to play their game, a good game, and they managed to. We also played a good game. The result is a logical one because Numancia didn't give up."

Asked if it was frustrating to once again fail to win at home, Zidane said he wasn't worrying about the home fans' perceptions of the team. "That doesn't worry me. I will keep working. Nobody will stop me from doing that. I cannot look at the criticism."
