Super Eagles of Nigeria Makes light work of Argentina’s La Albiceleste in an international friendly match in Krasnodar, Russia. The Super Eagles came from behind to beat the Argentines 4 – 2. A massive victory for the Eagles who lined up the trio of Leon Balogun, Willial Troost-Ekong and Chidozie Awaziem at the back with John Mikel Obi, Wilfred Ndidi, John Oguin the midfield while Ola Aina and Shehu Abdullahi starred as wing backs. Kelechi Iheanacho and Alex Iwobi led the attack.

Argentina fielded a strong team without Messi with Javier Mascherano, Nicolas Otamendi, Paulo Dybala, Angel Di Maria and Sergio Aguero all starting. The Super Eagles came from 0-2 deficit to hand over a memorable defeat to the Messi-less Argentines.

 

Arsenal’s Alex Iwobi and Leicester’s Kelechi Iheanacho were superb on the attack, with Kelechi reducing the deficit with a curled free kick just before the break. The Eagles came back in the second half even more determined and put three goals behind the Argentine goalie.

 

Iwobi had a brace scoring in the 52nd and 73minute, the second via a well placed pass by Ahmed Musa, who came in for Kelechi. Bryan Idowu scored Nigeria’s fourth goal in the 54th minute on his debut.
