Brentford was able to secure an EPL slot after defeating Swansea in the playoffs. The club has now joined Norwich City and Watford to participate in the Premier League for the 2021/22 season after quick succession goals from Toney and Emiliano sink Swansea in the first half.
This is Bees 10th attempt in securing promotion to the EPL and have done so through the EFL play-offs. The west London club joins a select group of clubs who have lost a second-tier play-off final but won it the next, joining Leicester (1994), Crystal Palace (1997) West Ham (2005) and Aston Villa (2019).
In securing their first promotion, Coach Thomas Frank has become the first Danish boss to win a promotion to the Premier League.
