Italian multinational company, Pirelli & C. S.p.A., has put an end to a three-decade partnership with the Italian football club Internazionale Milano, commonly referred to as Inter Milan according to chief executive Marco Tronchetti Provera.

Pirelli’s CEO has confirmed the company will end its 27-year spell as Inter’s shirt sponsor this summer, but will, however, maintain a relationship with the club. “We are in talks with Antonello, Marotta and other Inter directors. We won’t be Inter’s kit sponsor anymore, but our relationship with the club will continue,” - Provera.

Pirelli has been Inter’s shirt sponsor for the last 27 years and this is the last season where its name will feature in the Nerazzurri’s game kits. The club will now hunt for a new main shirt sponsor; Although a number of Asian companies are linked with succeeding Pirelli, including Evergrande Group and Hisense.

Inter’s owners Suning, has sold a 23% share in their company at the weekend to bring in some much-needed cash and further confirmed last week they will financially support Inter.
