Real Madrid midfielder, Luka Modric has said Barcelona can still succeed without Lionel Messi. According to Croatian, his team at Los Blancos had a similar experience when Cristiano Ronaldo took his leave from the club. Madrid snatched the Laliga title from Barca last season, making it there biggest silverware in recent times since Ronaldo left for Juventus in 2018.
He said though Madrid has some challenged in the champions league since they lost C. Ronaldo, but they had forged with their business and have acclimatized to face the reality.
As Messi is struggling to exit Barcelona, Modric sees it similar to when their Portugal star left them.
While talking to Goal, He said, “It would be a huge loss. Like when Cristiano left. But you can’t think about the past. It’s football and that’s it.
“If it happens it will be a huge loss for the prestige of the league. But we need to go forward. Other players will become stars.
According to him, when Cristiano Ronaldo left Los Blancos, a similar thing happened, life in Real Madrid left without him and the same fate is stirring at Barcelona that they are finding it difficult to accept.
